Southern Cross Health Society has two options for cover of massage therapy which must be undertaken by a remedial massage therapist registered with Massage New Zealand:
- The Wellbeing health insurance plan with the optional Body Care Module allows policyholders to claim up to $400 per year for remedial massage therapy.
- The HealthEssentials plan Self Care benefit allows policyholders to claim for 75 per cent of their costs up to an annual maximum of $250 per claims year for massage therapy.

Massage New Zealand is the association of professional massage therapists in New Zealand. The purpose of MNZ is to promote the benefits of massage, provide the public with access to registered massage therapists and to support professional massage therapists throughout New Zealand.
The massage industry is currently not regulated by the New Zealand government. MNZ provides the massage profession with a self-regulating body to ensure the highest standards of massage training and practice, and provide protection for the public.
To ensure you get the very best out of massage ensure you only go to a fully trained and qualified Therapist. There are different levels of training in New Zealand within the industry. I am happy to assure you I am fully qualified through the New Zeland College of Massage.
